Light Up My Holiday
ProMatcher
Answer: A partial surprise (you have some say as to who attends)
Explanation: When I help to plan a birthday event, I find that people like surprises. On the other hand, I recommend against a total surprise because: the honoree may not show up (or may be unhappy if the planner tried to rearrange the schedule of the honoree), the wrong people may be invited, or the honoree may be unhappy thinking that they were forgotten. Explanation: I love surprises as much as anyone else, but the ideas that I have for my own parties are often really amazing ideas that I am unable to obtain due to budget. Since I am always planning events for others, I would love the opportunity to have an endless budget that I can use to plan my own memorable event.
I Do Events
Answer: A partial surprise (you have some say as to who attends)
Explanation: As a wedding and event planner, we recognize the value of "letting go of the reins" and allowing others to assist. We want to provide our clients with peace of mind and the freedom to make big picture decisions without having to sweat the small stuff. Therefore, if it were a birthday celebration for ourselves, where we're the guest of honor, a partial surprise would be ideal.
